M. C. Davar & Company was founded by Mr. Madhusudan Patel in partnership with Mr. M. C. Davar to initially represent Swiss firm ESROLKO/GIV Dubendorf in India.
1975: 2nd Generation
3 sons of Late. Madhusudan Patel - Mr. Asit, Mr. Ajay & Mr. Apoorva Patel join the business.
1975-1985: Growing our presence
1976: Expanding into manufacturing
With a vision of the future, Sai Aromas was incorporated to expand into fragrance compounding by establishing R&D Centre and manufacturing facility in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
1979: New Agency
MC Davar & Co becomes exclusive All India agent & distributor for Swiss firm Firmenich (Now DSM-Firmenich)
1985: Restructuring
The businesses were amicably divided between the brothers - Mr. Asit Patel took over agency activities while Mr. Ajay & Mr. Apoorva Patel took over manufacturing activities.
1995: Acquisition
Sai Aromas acquired the part of the domestic manufacturing business of M. C. Davar & Co post announcement of new M. C. Davar & Co + Firmenich joint venture in India.
1995: New Identities
Post the acquisition, Sai Aromas activities were divided into 2 new entities:
Zest Aromas – manufacturer of fragrance compounds
Spectrum Ingredients - Distributor of fragrance compounds, aroma chemicals & ingredients.
1996: New manufacturing unit
Zest Aromas established a new manufacturing facility in Silvassa, DNH & DD (UT) to consolidate its activities to a single location by closing micro manufacturing units of Mumbai & Vasai.
2000: Adopting new technologies
Zest Aromas was one of the first F&F houses in India to install a Spray Dryer to offer encapsulated fragrances.
2001
Zest Aromas established a new manufacturing facility in Silvassa, DNH & DD (UT) to consolidate its activities to a single location by closing micro manufacturing units of Mumbai & Vasai.
2007: Scaling up capacities
Zest Aromas expanded its Spray Drying capacities by establishing Unit 3 consisting of 2 Spray Dryers.
2012: Third Generation
Mr. Bhavik Patel joins Zest Aromas, continuing the family legacy with renewed passion and vision.
2014: Flavours
Zest Aromas diversified into manufacturing of flavours.
2017
Inaugurated new flavour blending unit to meet growing demand.
2019
Opened new Corporate office, R&D Centre & Analytical Lab in Andheri (E), Mumbai – Maharashtra.
2024: Augmenting capacities
New investments were made to increase our overall manufacturing capacities including liquid blending, Emulsion blending & Spray Drying with an installation of new 500 MT/year spray dryer.
